The end of the year is a popular occasion for such a thing. In this three-part series, of which this is Part 3, I am providing my Top 10 news stories of 2009. Let’s get to the list.

(June 15, 2010) . . . breaking news . . . Bonaparte Lands Job in Cali LONG BEACH – Outgoing CoB-GC economist Yosef Bonaparte has landed a job in the Robert Day School of Economics and Finance at Claremont McKenna College in California. As long-time readers of USMNEWS.net are aware, Bonaparte was, according to former EFIB chairman George Carter, terminated unexpectedly by the Lance Nail administration (2008-present) of the CoB during the 2008-09 academic year.

(June 20, 2010 update) Updated 20-June-10 Special Report Name-worthy Departed CoB Faculty (2003-Present) Now at Named Colleges & Schools In Part 8 of “Just Who Does Southern Miss’ CoB Think It Is?” we saw just how many colleges and schools of business in surrounding states are “named.” Nowhere among those is USM’s College of Business.
