(April 26, 2010) Saved by Departures Two Retiring ECO Faculty may Remain at USM After 2009-10 Dakhlia to THA Readers: CoAL Economics Program will Likely Fail One of the two surprise resignations in ECO came from associate professor Sami Dakhlia, who will be joining a French university for 2010-11. Dakhlia told Kemp that, in his view, there is “insufficient willingness within the USM administration to create a thriving or even feasible economics program.” Dakhlia was even so bold as to predict that the program would likely fail.
(June 2, 2010) GH Chatter Chatter has it that outgoing CoB economist Sami Dakhlia’s Canebrake home is up for sale at a cool $450,000. Dakhlia didn’t make the four year mark with USM, and he is leaving at $84,000 per year.
