(April 5, 2011) The Farm News Briefs from Southern Miss 5-April-2011 Still Thriving Based on Jennifer Rigney’s 4-Apr-2011 presser entitled “Blackwell Named Director of Residence Life and Housing,” USM’s administration has yet to suffer any discomfort as a result of the Great Recession, and its accompanying fiscal difficulties. As Rigney points out, Oklahoma State University’s Scott Blackwell, pictured below, has been named USM’s new director of Residence Life and Housing.

HATTIESBURG – As David Tisdale’s USM presser points out, a celebratory opening of USM’s new five-story parking garage – a structure capable of accommodating 1,200 vehicles – occurred on the morning of 7-April-2011, complete with USM president Martha Saunders and USM vice president of student affairs Joe Paul driving an antique vehicle through a yellow ribbon to mark the occasion (see Steve Rouse’s photo below).
