(June 15, 2011) 31st & Pearl Akbarometer Are we really supposed to believe that former CoB economics professor Akbar Marvasti needs a $500/month allowance to visit his son in Houston? Really? That’s $6,000/year going to Houston and back to Miami. Is he using the USM plane? There’s no other way to justify such an expense.

(June 16, 2011) Dear usmnews.net, Recent reports about Dr. Marvasti’s financial woes have been a hot topic around the CoB water cooler. Everyone seems to have the same question. If the move was going to put Marvasti in dire financial straits, why did he leave so precipitously? He had just gotten tenured. Somebody had to teach Econ. Why not him?
