Former Hattiesburg Resident to Head BP HATTIESBURG – Former Hattiesburg resident Bob Dudley has been selected by BP to replace embattled company CEO Tony Hayward. Dudley, pictured below, will assume command of the oil giant upon Hayward’s resignation, which takes effect on 1-Oct-2010. Dudley is currently BP’s managing director. According to the Associated Press, Dudley will be based out of BP’s London office.

A few reports and editorials here at USMNEWS.net have pointed out the similarities in the backgrounds of current USM president Martha Saunders and former USM vice president Angeline Godwin, who was known during her tenure in the Shelby Thames administration (2002-07) as Angeline Godwin Dvorak or Angeline Dvorak. Both seem adept at “pufferizing” their academic accomplishments, some of which are eerily similar.

Postlewate Leaving USM HATTIESBURG – The Hattiesburg American’s higher education reporter Ed Kemp informed the Hattiesburg and USM communities on 31-July-2010 that Rusty Postlewate, USM’s physical plant director, has resigned his post effective 31-August-2010. Postlewate, pictured below, has, according to Kemp, served USM in that high-ranking capacity since 2004.
