Bounty on ‘Graffiti Vandals’ Raised to $1,000 HATTIESBURG – The Martha Saunders administration of USM has raised the so-called bounty on the three (white) males being sought for what USM officials are calling graffiti-related “vandalism” that occurred on the USM campus in the early morning hours of 29-October-2010.

Terminated FSU Faculty Push Back FSU Admin HATTIESBURG – In his article for The Chronicle of Higher Education (6-Nov-2010) entitled “Arbitrator Orders Florida State U. to Rescind Layoffs of Tenured Faculty Members,” Peter Schmidt explains that a Florida State University faculty union fought back against an FSU administration that last year terminated a number of tenured faculty in response to budget cuts on the Tallahassee-based campus.

USM Student Beaten on Greek Row HATTIESBURG – USM freshman Stuart Ramsey recuperating in his Jackson home today after having been badly beaten on the USM campus on Saturday evening. Ramsey’s father, Tom, told The Hattiesburg American that Stuart, who is 18, suffered (1) a broken hand, (2) a concussion, (3) numerous lacerations, (4) numerous bruises, and (5) multiple boot prints as a result of being attacked from behind by members of USM’s Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
