(December 17, 2007) Breaking News And So It Continues HATTIESBURG – If the reports now spreading from one CoB faculty to another are accurate, and sources insist they are, then not even the recent report that the CoB has been given a clean bill of health from the AACSB, even if only after a 6th Year Review, can stem the constant flow of bad news from the CoB. Mixon’s departure leaves the CoB’s economics unit as an empty shell, which will have to be rebuilt from the ground up. The loss of Mixon carries with it the loss of a solid research record, one that reporters at USMNEWS.NET will be covering in the coming days and weeks.

(July 20, 2008) Special Report Duo-nomics An Investigative Series on CoB Faculty Research Credentials When it comes to finding "the greatest ever" out of economics, the first thought that comes to mind is the reported high productivity of many past and present members of that unit. Thus, to do the unit justice, we faced the prospect of having to analyze the records of a relatively large number of individuals. Insiders suggested we begin with former EFIBers, Mark Dickie and Franklin Mixon. From what reporters gathered, Dickie and Mixon both arrived during Black's administration of the CBA. Both have since moved on, with Dickie joining the economics faculty at the University of Central Florida during the Gunther administration of the CBA, and Mixon joining the economics faculty at Auburn University after the end of the Doty administration.
