(March 25, 2011) Dear usmnews.net: I think it is well known that the recent budget crisis cost Kuo Lane Chen her
associate professorship in the College of Business. Piecing together everything else that happened, it appears that
Scott Magruder was also let go. Erin Drake-Bridges is not on the Fall 2011 teaching schedule, nor is her photo with
the rest of the fashion merchandising faculty at usm.edu. Chang Hsieh is also not on the Fall 2011 teaching schedule
for MBA, MGT, or MIS, at least with regard to Hattiesburg. If he is out, that makes three from the old MIS area, with
Chen and Magruder. Matthew Hood in finance and Stan Clark in accounting are leaving for other schools. This
could be another uptick in turnover that we are seeing.
