President Saunders Accepts CFO Morgan’s Resignation HATTIESBURG – USM president Martha Saunders informed the campus community on 4-May-2010 that she had accepted “the resignation” of USM chief financial officer Joe Morgan, effective 30-Aug-2010. Calling Morgan “a long-time and loyal member of the Southern Miss family,” Saunders wished him well in his future endeavors through her communiqué with the USM community.

(July 11, 2010) Getting To Know Your Cob Up Close And Personal (Under Oath): We continue “Getting to know your CoB up close and personal (under oath) …” with untenured assistant professor Mary Anderson. . . .Lastly, Dr. Jerold Morgan was a friend of mine and had an office across the hall from mine for some time. On more than one occasion he told me he was quite embarrassed by his daughter, Mary. Now I understand why he said it.

(July 13, 2010) Dear usmnews.net Editor: When I read the recent re-print of Built By Englebrecht, I was surprised to see that during her 2008 deposition, Mary Anderson claimed an Accounting Horizon’s publication. I couldn’t believe that such a prestigious publication by one of accounting’s own would not have been widely reported by the USM public relations mill. So, I went searching for the article. Guess what? I couldn’t find ANY Accounting Horizons publications by Mary Anderson.
