worried about the organization's chances for a turnaround. There is certainly cause for concern in this regard.

(December 18, 2008) CoB News, 18 December 2008 Sound the Retreat CoB faculty were recently greeted by new CoB
dean Lance Nail's office with the following e-mail:

purchased a USM golf cart it really is time to start feeling sorry for USM students and their parents. Suffering through
the waves of recession, and facing double-digit tuition increases, these Mississippians get to read and hear about the
luxuries of golf carts and Beechcraft King Air 200 airplanes at USM. All of the ghosts of the Shelby F. Thames
administration appear to be happy and at home in the new Martha D. Saunders administration.

Academic Council (for consideration at its Dec-08 meeting), the memo inserted below to Drs. David Walker and Sabine
Heinhorst, respective chairs of the Academic Programs and Graduate Programs Committees. Nail used the memo to
explain to Drs. Walker and Heinhorst the logic behind his proposed reorganization
