(January 11, 2007) Above Your Pay Grade? Military men (and women) often use expressions that reflect their experience in themilitary. One such expression is “That’s above your [my, our] pay grade.” This saying is used to indicate that the recipient of the statement has no business involving himself or herself in whatever “that” is. This particular expression has been (over)used by EFIB Chair George Carter through the years as part of his crusade to create a culture of detached submission among rank and file faculty, but the concept is supported by almost all administrators in the CoB

(February 19, 2007) Nostalgia Series: Rod Dr. Roderick Posey, Baptist minister, Professor of Accounting, former Interim Associate Dean, former Associate Dean, former Interim Dean, former Associate Dean (again), and former Director of SAIS, CPA, and other fine things, such as former President of the Hattiesburg Lion’s Club. Posey, Director of the School of Accountancy and Information Systems. Near the bottom of his bio, it states that Professor Posey “has published more than 100 articles in several publications related to many accounting issues.”

But Rod has always been given special treatment.”
(March 7, 2007) What happens to faculty who are desperate to become administrators?, part 3 “Rod is gone again today, no explanation, no word as to why. He spends most of each Friday doing Lion's Club work and generally away from campus. Had Wanda calling on Lion's Club business this week. Has had her and student workers doing Lion's Club work while paid by university. He also does not complete Permission to Travel forms often until after he returns from a trip. Some seem to have to comply with rules and others do not.
