(May 15, 2007) Out of Cite A Look Back at the Google Scholar Citations Reports from Summer 2006 In mid-July of 2006, USMNEWS.NET provided a series of reports that tabulated the Google Scholar citations to CoB faculty research. The tables from two of those reports are inserted below. The first ranks CoB faculty by aggregate Google Scholar citations, while the second reports a couple of metrics using Google Scholar citations to rank the academic units within the CoB.
(May 17, 2007) Special Report If Gunther Gets to be a Full, Why Can’t Green? An Investigative Series on CoB Faculty Research Credentials Reporters at usmnews.net have compiled a table that begs an interesting question: If William Gunther gets to be a full professor of economics, why can’t Trellis Green? That table – Table 1 below – presents the refereed journal articles produced by Gunther and Green over their respective careers. As the bottom of the table indicates, Gunther began at USM in 1998 (as CBA Dean), though he earned his Ph.D. many years earlier in 1969. Gunther was hired by USM as a professor of economics in 1998. Green began a little earlier, in 1983, earning his Ph.D. the following year (1984). Green was promoted to associate professor of economics in 1998.

An Investigative Series on CoB Faculty Research Credentials Reporters at usmnews.net have compiled a table that begs an interesting question: If Roderick Posey gets to be a full professor of accounting, why can’t Jim Henderson? That table – Table 1 below – presents the refereed journal articles produced by Posey and Henderson over their respective careers. As the bottom of the table indicates, Posey began at USM in 1979, and earned his Ph.D. one year later in 1980. He was promoted to professor in 1991. Henderson began (tenure-track) a little later, in 1988, though he earned his Ph.D. back in 1980 (the same year Posey earned his). He has been an associate professor of accounting since 1991.

That table – Table 1 below – presents the refereed journal articles produced by Duhon and Pate over their respective careers. As the bottom of the table indicates, Duhon began at USM in 1988, though he earned his Ph.D. several years earlier in 1981. He was promoted to professor in 2006. Pate began (tenure-track) a little later, in 1990, earning her Ph.D. the following year (1991). She has been an associate professor of accounting since 1997.
