(November 9, 2009) GH Chatter There has been some recent buzz about faculty turnover in the CoB. Of course, the old EFIB (and the CoB) will be losing five economists to retirement and four others to the CoAL. Word is that a non-ECO EFIBer may be leaving after 2009-10 as well. Over in MIS we already know that Donna Davis is departing. There has been some chatter that Chang-Tseh Hsieh would be moving on as well, but with his receipt of the University Distinguished Professorship that seems highly unlikely.
(November 9, 2009) 31st & Pearl Turnover Unprecedented It's next to impossible to contemplate, as the 9-Nov-09 installment of GH Chatter does, even more faculty turnover in USM's College of Business. The faculty turnover page here at USMNEWS.net was last updated in early Oct]-09. At that time it listed 72 faculty -- let's repeat that one, 72 faculty -- who have left the organization since former CoB dean Duane Harold Doty arrived on the scene back in 2003. That's a turnover rate for the ages.

The reader noted (online) that the 4 economists staying behind were all foreign-born.

(December 10, 2009) Buffoonery Looking Back on the ECO Hiring Debacle of 2006-07 USMNEWS.net's recent reprinting of Part 1 of "Rock, Paper, Scissors --- Rock!" reminds everyone who follows USM's b-school just how disastrous the George Carter administration (2005-09) of the old EFIB department (economics, finance, international business) actually was.
