(April 16, 2008) Special Report “No Job for the Faint Hearted” An Examination of the Costs of the CoB’s Recent
Faculty Losses Regular readers of USMNEWS.NET will recall reports of the mass exodus of CoB faculty that
occurred in the weeks and months following the February 2007 AACSB Maintenance of Accreditation visit made by
the CoB’s AACSB Peer Review Team.
(May 13, 2008) Lost & Found by Duane Cobb Without a doubt, the CoB's faculty turnover rate since former CoB Dean
Harold Doty's arrival in 2003 has risen to historically high levels. However, some units have been adversely affected
much more so than others. In some cases, units have completely turned over once, if not more than once. In all of
these cases one can compare what has been lost to what is now found. That is, the lost faculty in some units can be
aggregated into a unit-sized group and compared to what remains for that unit in USM's CoB of today.

(June 29, 2008) CoB Human Resources Update June, 2008 The 2007-08 academic year has been a particularly
devastating one on the human resources front in the CoB. All four of its departments suffered faculty losses, though
some suffered more than others. Below is a summary of much of what has occurred over the past 9 months or so:
(July 3, 2008) CoB News, 3 July 2008 Why was Rambo Driven to the Outskirts of Town? While working on The CoB's
Brain Drain, 2003-Present,USMNEWS.NET reporters ran across some interesting information about former CoB
accountant, Robert Rambo, who is now at Providence College. It seems that Rambo had published two A-level
journal articles, using a combination of the CoB's new journal rankings and Louisiana Tech University's journal
classifications, just before being informed by CoB faculty/administrators that he had failed to perform up to
expectations at USM.
